Elegance, power, and precision in spades! What a gem of an archtop. I can't decide whether I like it more through an Acoustic Image Corus or a Carr Sportsman...it springs to life either way! While it's all carved, solid wood, the back is built a bit heavier than some jazz boxes to lend the Classic more feedback resistance for high volume work. That compression works wonderfully with the ultra precise Big Leaf Maple and that spacious 17" lower bout. You don't have to choose between a lively, vibrant acoustic response and a focused, articulate voice with this instrument--the Classic's tone is as agile as it is rich. And that's just the sound! The Macassar ebony here and there perfectly suits that dark, graceful burst. Throw in the masterfully crafted 3-piece neck and you've got an unbeatable jazz box.
