Sound Pure's Take
Condition: Used, Excellent
SP Luthier Notes: A majority of frets showed evidence of play wear. As such, the frets were leveled, recrowned, and polished back to a near mint state. The guitar required a full adjustment to the truss rod, nut, and bridge to be brought to a perfect level of playability. Our luthier also did specifric work on the fret ends of the instrument for a smooth playing experience. No further work was required.
A Spruce and Rosewood dread from Collings all ready begins with a very high bar - but what happens when you push the bar further? Brazilian Rosewood, Adirondack Spruce; these aspects combined with great craftsmanship and our luthier's work on the setup and frets combine to make for one of the most powerful instruments we've ever seen. The tone is lush and reverb-y but without any mud and chords and single notes alike resonate and decay beautifully - and playing is BREEZE, this guitar essentially plays itself. Don't miss this one!
From Collings Guitars
The square-shouldered 14-fret dreadnought is the most popular steel-string acoustic guitar body shape in the world. While Collings is certainly not the only company to build them, we bring a new tonal clarity to the depth and warmth usually associated with such a large, deep-bodied guitar. Although its bass response makes the dreadnought ideal for vocal accompaniment, Collings versions are also often employed by bluegrass flatpickers who must compete with inherently louder instruments such as banjos and fiddles. The wide range of woods and neck sizes offered allow dreadnought fans to find a Collings model ideally suited to their playing style and tonal preference.
