Sound Pure's Take

World War II-era Acoustics are some of the most sought after instruments - this Collings brings you as close as you'll ever get to one of those vintage acoustics, if not being in excession of that spirit...and I think I'm in love. The sound is dense, bell-like, and warm with a personality all its own, while still being clear - something that is owed to the mahogany construction and spruce top. The larger neck profile is lovely for chords and single note runs, and really gives you something to grab onto, especially if you have larger hands. And, there's something to be said about the understated looks this thing provides. This guitar cuts through the bull aesthetically, and that sunburst finish is just to die for.

From Collings Guitars

As with all of our Traditional Series guitars, when it came time to add a “T” designation to our slope-shoulder offerings, we didn’t simply tweak the original; the all-new Collings CJ-45 T is a fully re-imagined instrument that offers a distinct tonal variation when compared to our CJ and CJ-35 models.

Strongly vintage-inspired, the body construction has been completely re-engineered, including new bracing carves and patterns. When combined with our latest T-Series neck design and new CJ-45 neck profile, the result showcases a tone that is exceptionally dry and fundamental with the growl and thump sought after in the great slope-shoulder dreads of the Wartime era.
