This is one of those special guitars that brings our whole office to a screeching halt. The "Oxblood CL" was just about the only thing anyone could seem to talk about the day it landed. While we love a good relic, the term is just not sufficient for how beautiful the aging work on the Oxblood finish and hardware on this beauty. Just enough vintage-vibe to make it the look and sound match perfectly. The Lollar P90s (Staple Top and standard Soap Bar) are so full of clarity and power that the notes seem to jump out of the amp before you've even played them; and with the '50s-style wiring, they are wonderfully interactive, offering up some truly unique tones. In the middle position, rolling off the volume of the neck pickup just by 1 digit allows the rip-roaring bridge pickup to do most of the sonic heavy lifting while still gaining some fullness and hum-cancellation from the two-pickup setting. One of the finest examples of what makes Collings' guitars so truly special and worth every single cent!
