For those of you who know John's work, you know it's nothing short of amazing. You also may equate these stellar archtop guitars with a high price-point. Well, times are a changin', and the Starlight series offers truly professional hand-built quality, at a price that is much more reasonable than previous offerings.

What I especially love about this build is the compact size, elegant looks, versatile pickup arrangement, and stealthy upgrades that you'll have to seek out to know they're there, like the push/push tone knob to engage coil-tap pickups, for a truly wide variety of tones, not commonly found on many archtop guitars. This feature brings this archtop guitar to a place not many can venture. Rock, country, blues, and other alternative styles are right at home. The Maple top is a great match for this pickup arrangement, of which, also aids to its versatility with other styles, along with the help of a center block.

Take a look in the F-holes and you may not see anything too different at first, but wait! are the edges curved? by golly, they are! The back and sides have been completely hollowed out. Structurally strong and perfectly matched with a carved flame maple top, the vibrance I feel when playing unplugged is inspiring! Plug in, and any gig or recording session is your ouster.
