Brady's most popular and versatile choice is the Jarrah ply drum. It has a great balance of attack, body, and warmth. Great sounds can be achieved whether it is tuned high or low. The shell is beautifully finished inside and out with 45-degree bearing edges. The shell is about ¼" thick, without reinforcing rings, and are unlike anyone else's as they are not cross laminated. Instead, Brady is one of the few companies where all the plies are laid horizontally, glued and bent in a dry mould. Because all the plies run in the same direction, the drums produce a sound quality very close to that of single-ply solid shell drums. This snare drum has ten of Brady's custom double-ended tube lugs. They are heavier than traditional tube lugs but add a nice and subtle compression to the shell that minmizes some overtones. The Nickelworks throw off and butt plate are are free of cracks.
