What We Think

We're beyond proud to offer this first-of-its-kind L-DBO from Bourgeois.  When we sold the first L-DBO we got from Bourgeois in a week, the only question was how we'd make the next one better...here's the answer!  The fully torrefied Adirondack top and Curly Maple back and sides come together to create one of the best fingerstyle voices we've heard.  The baking process warms and softens the Addy's bite without any loss to articulation or clarity in the treble range.  And what a look, what a sound from that Maple!  The torrefaction renders it rich and sweet.  Still punchy and strong fundamentally but far less crispy and bright.  Dark, open, and lingering--the sustain is an absolute joy, almost entirely un-cluttered by overtones.  It'll be gone quicker than witching hour, though--call us up today and take home your own piece of Bourgeois magic!

Manufacturer's Description from Bourgeois

Dana Bourgeois' passion for acoustic guitars was fostered by those coveted instruments built in the pre-war era. Bourgeois Guitars' mission as a company has always been to merge our love for vintage guitar tone and design with modern innovation and playability. This foundation can be heard and seen clearly in our newest guitar, the Bourgeois L-DBO. Inspired by the classic guitars that emerged from the mid-west early in the last century, the Bourgeois L-DBO brings that distinctive sound that old-time and county-blues enthusiasts love into a new era. Utilizing Bourgeois' Aged Tone torrefaction technology, this guitar combines vintage small-body character and bark with Dana's signature articulation and response. The result is a versatile instrument with tons of personality, perfect for finger-style blues, old-time accompaniment, and comfortable couch-playing.

About Manufacturer

Bourgeois Guitars are defining the future of vintage tone, combining old-world hand-voicing techniques with modern innovations in design and materials. Built in a ca. 1850s mill in the industrial town of Lewiston Maine, master luthier Dana Bourgeois and his small team of highly skilled craftsman produce some of the finest steel-string instruments available today.

Known for tonal excellence, meticulous craftsmanship and top-notch materials, they are played by six-string luminaries such as Bryan Sutton, Ricky Skaggs, Sean Watkins, Della Mae, the late Doc Watson and countless professional and nonprofessional enthusiasts. Bourgeois guitars have had a prominent role in the American steel-string guitar renaissance for more than two decades, helping shape acoustic music’s most recent rise in popularity.
