What We Think

Robin Boucher has sent us yet another wonderful Studio Goose guitar that is ready to be heard and hopefully recorded soon! This OM has all the cut you'll ever need and is warm without losing clarity. We've got some absolutely impeccable AAAA graded Adirondack top with beautiful light colored South American Mahogany on the build that looks crisp and clean without being too over the top. This OM Soloist's best qualities are certainly the feel and sound over the cosmetic appointments and you'll know the second you slide your hand around the neck that this is one of the most comfortable playing flattops you'll come across. If you're a fingerstyle player or flatpicker who wants an insanely good lead guitar with access to the upper frets give us a call about this exceptional OM from Boucher!

Manufacturer's Description from Boucher

Forward Shifted x Bracing

The bracing pattern in our guitars is similar to the ones used by CF Martin Co. between the years 1931 and 1939. So, during the Pre war II or Golden era. We also call this way to brace “Forward Shifted X Bracing”.

It’s the first known system to obtain this legendary sound. The X formed by the two main brace is exceptionally advanced and spread towards the guitar sound hole, thus facilitating the propagation of vibrations, harmonics diffusion and low frequencies. However, it is almost imperative that the braces have to be made of Adirondack’s spruce or extraordinary hand-pick on others resinous species.

The wood used to manufacture the braces must have been hand-cut and sawed with attention to detail in order to preserve its extraordinary properties of flexibility, resiliency and stiffness. Otherwise, the soundboard could collapse through the years.

About Manufacturer

A few years back a wonderful man named Robin Boucher drove to Sound Pure studios all the way from Canada. In his back seat, nestled in lovely tweed cases, he had some of the finest acoustic guitars to ever cross our northern border. We became immediate friends and his work was mind-blowing. The clarity of the tone, the immaculate fit and finish, the effortless playability. To top it all off, Robin got his start as a WOOD DEALER. He happens to live in an Adirondack red spruce forest!
