A sonic giant with a heart of gold! This masterful S-Jumbo from Robin Boucher is as sweet and nuanced as it is brawny and boomy. While that superlative flamed Walnut on the back and sides (the likes of which we've never seen and will likely never see again) provides a great fundamental-based tonality, it still works well with the Adirondack to provide plenty of shimmer and nuance in the mid and upper ranges, as well a clean, controlled quality to the unmatched bass presence afforded by this titanic body style. The refined overtone content and natural sustain blanket the dynamic range with a unique sweetness--similar to the wonderfully gentle sunburst on that Master Grade Bearclaw Addy top. I found that plenty of nuance and power is available to bare-finger players, but this massive charmer really hits its stride with either flat or fingerpicks involved--fans of everything from Rev. Gary Davis arrangements to more obscure open-tuning stylings are in for a guaranteed thrill from the first fretting with this one. About Manufacturer

A few years back a wonderful man named Robin Boucher drove to Sound Pure studios all the way from Canada. In his back seat, nestled in lovely tweed cases, he had some of the finest acoustic guitars to ever cross our northern border. We became immediate friends and his work was mind-blowing. The clarity of the tone, the immaculate fit and finish, the effortless playability. To top it all off, Robin got his start as a WOOD DEALER. He happens to live in an Adirondack red spruce forest!
