The Boucher BG-52 is a truly exceptional acoustic that showcases the power and nuance of premium tonewoods and masterful craftsmanship. Its AAAA Adirondack red spruce top, paired with forward-shifted hand-scalloped bracing, delivers remarkable headroom, dynamic response, and rich, authoritative tone. The one-piece mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard provide a smooth, confident feel, while the body resonates with depth, clarity, and balance across every register. Elegant details like maple binding, herringbone accents, and a high-gloss finish complete its refined look. Responsive, inspiring, and built with intention, this BG-52 is a standout instrument and a rewarding long-term investment for serious players!
Our BG-52 is crafted and engineered to meet the very high requirements of bluegrass guitarists performing live or in the recording studio. Our guitars offer a large presence on stage due to the method of construction and choices of woods. The BG-52 is as "present" as all other bluegrass instruments whether you are strumming or soloing.
Robin Boucher personally selects Adirondack red spruce for the bracing and soundboard in order to give the instrument its special bluegrass sonority. Rich low ends, driving mids and beefy highs describe the sound spectrum of our Bluegrass Goose. This guitar is incredibly easy to play due to the elevated soundboard radius and the unique profile of the neck which will perfectly match the hand of the guitarist.
Dreaming of such a guitar? We have it.
A few years back a wonderful man named Robin Boucher drove to Sound Pure studios all the way from Canada. In his back seat, nestled in lovely tweed cases, he had some of the finest acoustic guitars to ever cross our northern border. We became immediate friends and his work was mind-blowing. The clarity of the tone, the immaculate fit and finish, the effortless playability. To top it all off, Robin got his start as a WOOD DEALER. He happens to live in an Adirondack red spruce forest!
