As a pro, I designed in the types of tones I’d need to cover all the music styles I had been playing as a bassist-for-hire, including backing up acoustic players - so there’s a wide variety of voices by design:

Neck pickup to give a woody, part upright tone. Blues, jazz, folk.

Bridge humbucker to be punchy but sweet. Rock, fusion, solo with the tone back.

Both together to be big, scooped like a J bass, but even fuller sounding. Great country rock tone. 

Very balanced & comfortable. Barely longer overall than an electric guitar. Anyone wanting a real high quality bass that just happens to be smaller & easier to handle, THE choice since 2004.
