From Beyerdynamic

A flexible double act: The stereo set includes a matched pair of beyerdynamic M 930 small membrane true condenser microphones. These microphones can be used for high-quality stereo recordings using the XY or ORTF techniques. Made by hand at the company headquarters in Heilbronn, Germany, the excellent craftsmanship of these microphones makes them reliable companions in the studio and live on stage.

At the end of the production process, the microphones are individually measured and then matched in pairs. A print-out of the measurement curves is included with your purchased stereo set.

NATURAL, AUTHENTIC SOUND

The MC 930 true condenser microphone has a natural, balanced sound. Thanks to its detailed bass response and high-resolution trebles, the MC 930 is perfect for use with a wide range of different sound sources. Whether for acoustic guitars, piano, hi-hats, overhead, choirs, orchestras, vocals or solo instruments of all kinds – the MC 930 is impressive when used with almost any sound source.

AS EASY AS FLIPPING A SWITCH

Thanks to its switchable attenuation (-15 dB), the MC 930 can also be used with loud instruments. Disruptive bass frequencies and low-mid frequencies that are caused, for example, by impact sounds or proximity effects, can be minimized by the switchable low-cut filter of 6 dB/octave at 250 Hz. This microphone works with 11–52 V phantom power.

FAST, FASTER, MC 930

The MC 930 includes a handmade true condenser capsule. The gold-vaporized diaphragm used in this microphone has excellent vibration and impulse behavior. This makes signals sound natural and precise throughout the session. The excellent transient response allows percussive sounds to be reproduced extremely quickly.

POWERFUL FOR USE WITH AUDIO INTERFACES AND MIXING CONSOLES

The MC 930 has one of the most powerful outputs (30 mV/Pa) among comparable microphones. This is a huge advantage, because it requires very little amplification.

A CARDIOID PATTERN WITH SPECIFIC ADVANTAGES

The MC 930 boasts an almost frequency-independent cardioid polar pattern. This means it prioritizes sound from the front over sound from the sides. When it comes to sound from the back, the cardioid pattern offers the best possible attenuation. This means that this microphone is less susceptible to crosstalk, i.e. from other nearby sound sources. Thanks to all of these features, the MC 930 can be used in the studio as well as live on stage.

A HARD SHELL PROTECTING A CLEVER CORE

The high-quality true condenser capsule is protected by a durable solid metal housing that also has a significant effect on the sound thanks to its strategically placed holes. The microphone head includes a robust yet acoustically neutral sintered disc. Both the switchable pre-attenuation and switchable low-cut filter are integrated into the housing. Thanks to its low weight and compact dimensions, it is quick and easy to position.
