Sound Pure's Take
What a special guitar! When we brought this one in the immaculate playability, lively acoustic tone, and downright professional-quality amplified voice all check out just as we expected and hoped. Upon further inspection, this guitar turned out to have an even deeper story behind it.
While the label inside the instrument designates this guitar as a 40th Anniversary model, the matching headstock inlay Bob did for those is, quite obviously, no where to be found. We contacted Howard Paul at Benedetto to get to the bottom of this one. It turns out the guitar was made by Bob himself as part of that 40th Anniversary run in 2008.
This guitar was put into storage while the company went in a new direction. Bob pulled the guitar out for inspection in 2010 and discovered it needed a new neck. The work was expertly done by Bob. All 40 of the anniversary inlays were used on the initial run of instruments, hence the standard headstock on the model as it is now. The guitar stayed with Benedetto until it was purchased in 2012.
But that's just the beginning! After a quick buff, dress, and setup from out luthier, this historic instrument is ready for many, many more years of playing, be it professional or personal.
The guitar in very good condition with some finish checking on the top that is visible at certain angles.
