Sound Pure's Take
Condition: Used, Excellent
Too often, a fun-and-flashy guitar only fulfills a visual gimmick while sacrificing build quality. The Backlund Model 400 is not one of those guitars. Crafted in partnership with Eastwood Guitars, the Model 400 looks built out of Bel Air fins, all chrome, cream and Lake Placid Blue, yet it's light and easy to play. Though you may imagine such an axe would sport single-coils to achieve surftastic tones matching its vintage aesthetic, these humbuckers are clear and crisp enough for everything from reverb-soaked minor-chord grooves to positively springy leads, not to mention driving an amp into crunchy break-up. It looks fun and flashy, and it is in spades, but what's most important is that it's a seriously good instrument.

From Other (Miscellanous Used/Vintage/Consign)
Backlund guitars are new classics -- his retro-futuristic designs harken back to another era while keeping one eye firmly on innovation and the future of the instrument as we know it. John has partnered with Eastwood Guitars to bring his fantastic out-of-this-world designs to life. Once you play one, we can promise: You won’t find any substitute.
