The George Kollias pedals from Axis are some of the best pedals ever produced. Built-in triggers, higher quality beaters and springs, effortless action, all combine to make this a modern double-bass players dream.
The George Kollias Signature Edition Pedals unite significant features to combine speed, functionality, and design for outstanding performance. The pedals are outfitted with the Electronic Kit for optimal independent triggering, with no cross talk or effects from ambient noise. Locating posts on the base plates keep the settings for the Electronic Kit and beaters from changing. For ease of adjustment, included are the patent pending MicroTune Spring Tensioners which incorporate a greater degree of precision and accuracy in fine scale spring tuning. Three MicroTune Spring Tensioners are included on the George Kollias Signature Edition Double Pedals which allow for quick conversion to two single pedals. The Variable Drive Lever, unique to Axis Pedals, allows for the regulation of the ratio of footboard movement to the arc of the beater. Included on the pedals are a new direct link toe piece, inspired by George, which increases the angle of the footboard for greater leverage. The pedals are equipped with beaters having a modified hammer design at George's request. The smooth footboards show George's singular design which is engraved by laser.
For almost three decades, Axis Percussion have been manufacturing high-quality drum hardware made from aircraft-grade aluminum and steel. Their goal is to provide drummers with efficient and durable gear that will last them for years. Axis started as Engineered Percussion, the brainchild of drummer and machinist Darrell Johnston. After a few failed experiments, Darrell produced the first versions of the now-iconic Axis pedals around 1990. After rave reviews in Modern Drummer Magazine and at the 1991 NAMM show, Axis began to garner a reputation for their innovative and durable designs. Today, with an artist roster including names like Derek Roddy, George Kollias, and Alfred Berengena, Axis pedals are revered by drummers the world over who seek speed, precision, and dependability from their gear. All parts are machined at Axis’ facility in Carson, California, meaning that Axis products truly are American-made by a small team of dedicated machinists and engineers.
