This guitar is a stunning beast. It can growl, whisper, and sing. Together, Cedar and Maple produce a truly jaw-dropping tone!

I LOVE THIS GUITAR.
Here are some of the comments it's received from my co-workers so far:
"That's a mans guitar, right there. . ." (Eddie, electric guru)
"That neck looks like a Louisville slugger. . ." (Allen, studio guru)
Don't get them wrong, however. It'd be perfect for either gender. Eddie just meant that the tone was crisp, powerful, and chocked full of sustain. Allen was referring to the coloration of the neck, not the heft.
To me, it's ghostly and beautiful. A truly haunting instrument. It can hit SO hard if you want it to, but it can also purr. Choose your notes wisely. This one won't let you hide, and I mean that in the best possible way ;)

The Pacific, 'Why not take this one into the recording studio?'
When James built the first maple and cedar Parlor, he had to build another just to see if it was an accident - the tone really surprised him. He felt compelled to make a model out of it. The tone is amazingly resonant, responsive and full for the size. Beautiful harmonics resound without being too overtone filled and the bass is rich but not boomy. A light fingerstyle or flatpick touch produces great volume.
We build the Pacific model in the two smaller size bodies - the Parlor and Grand Concert. The Grand Concert has partially scalloped braces, and the Parlor has a much different (lighter) bracing and does not need it.
The Pacific model includes beautiful AAA curly maple back and sides with a cedar top with matching curly maple peghead veneer. Beautiful dark curly koa bindings frame the body, peghead and fretboard. Our notched square MOP fretboard inlay pattern is standard
James Goodall represents an artisan who is at the pinnacle of his profession. Superb craftsmanship, an exacting finesse for detail and wood choice, combined with robust, three dimensional sound character -- these are qualities which embody every James Goodall guitar.
Few who endeavor in musical instrument making are capable of consistently maintaining a high level of precision and excellence along with superior tonal character in every instrument. Discerning eyes and ears will find the substance of all these qualities in every James Goodall instrument.
