What We Think

Another worldclass instrument from our favorite Canadian luthier!  Built to satisfy the most exacting demands an accomplished flatpicker or fingerstylist makes on any instrument, the detail and balance evident from bass to treble is truly something you've got to hear to believe.  The top is as good as Adirondack gets--the intricate figuring is almost as stunning as the tonal response.  You can expect all of the authority and liveliness of an old Martin with the shimmer and dazzling complexity of more modern instruments.

Manufacturer's Description from Boucher

Forward Shifted x Bracing

The bracing pattern in our guitars is similar to the ones used by CF Martin Co. between the years 1931 and 1939. So, during the Pre war II or Golden era. We also call this way to brace “Forward Shifted X Bracing”.

It’s the first known system to obtain this legendary sound. The X formed by the two main brace is exceptionally advanced and spread towards the guitar sound hole, thus facilitating the propagation of vibrations, harmonics diffusion and low frequencies. However, it is almost imperative that the braces have to be made of Adirondack’s spruce or extraordinary hand-pick on others resinous species.

The wood used to manufacture the braces must have been hand-cut and sawed with attention to detail in order to preserve its extraordinary properties of flexibility, resiliency and stiffness. Otherwise, the soundboard could collapse through the years.

About Manufacturer

A few years back a wonderful man named Robin Boucher drove to Sound Pure studios all the way from Canada. In his back seat, nestled in lovely tweed cases, he had some of the finest acoustic guitars to ever cross our northern border. We became immediate friends and his work was mind-blowing. The clarity of the tone, the immaculate fit and finish, the effortless playability. To top it all off, Robin got his start as a WOOD DEALER. He happens to live in an Adirondack red spruce forest!
