What We Think

This our first Gold Touch guitar from Boucher and we've all agreed: it won't be the last!  What a look and what a sound from this rich, wizened 12 fretter.  The EIR, 12 fret configuration, and that "Touched" top all work together to create stunning bass response and overal deep-reaching complexity of tone that many instruments of this size lack.  With a long scale length harkening back to early Martin 000 design, you won't have to set down the flatpick to put this workhorse through its paces.

Boucher Studio Goose 000 with JP Cormier and Buddy Robertson

We were lucky enough to have Canadian recording artist J.P. Cormier give us a little demo of the Boucher Studio Goose 000 -12 Fret (East Indian Rosewood), accompanied by Buddy Robertson of Flatt Lonesome. We're blown away by Robin Boucher's guitars and loved to see them in such capable hands.

Manufacturer's Description from Boucher

Gold Touch Option

Maturity is a great quality, particularly when it comes to guitars.  This is why we have combined the expertise of our luthiers with the science of our researchers to achieve a world first: accelerated aging of the sound board without breaking down the essential components of the wood.  (cellulose, hemicellulose, etc.) Whether you’re a professional, amateur or beginner musician this “new design, old look” option is available on all of our models for those who want that “well-loved” look without the long wait. Comes with gold machine head tuners.

Forward Shifted x Bracing

The bracing pattern in our guitars is similar to the ones used by CF Martin Co. between the years 1931 and 1939. So, during the Pre war II or Golden era. We also call this way to brace “Forward Shifted X Bracing”.

It’s the first known system to obtain this legendary sound. The X formed by the two main brace is exceptionally advanced and spread towards the guitar sound hole, thus facilitating the propagation of vibrations, harmonics diffusion and low frequencies. However, it is almost imperative that the braces have to be made of Adirondack’s spruce or extraordinary hand-pick on others resinous species.

The wood used to manufacture the braces must have been hand-cut and sawed with attention to detail in order to preserve its extraordinary properties of flexibility, resiliency and stiffness. Otherwise, the soundboard could collapse through the years.

About Boucher

Founded in 2005,  Boucher Guitars has become known as a leader in the creation of high-quality acoustic guitars. Our workshop is located in Quebec, Canada, in the heart of the Canadian Appalachian mountains, and we are lucky to be surrounded by North America’s largest Adirondack spruce forest. These majestic trees provide the wood for our guitars’ sound boards, and we are proud to be the only guitar maker working exclusively with Adirondack spruce for all of our sound boards. Every Boucher instrument is handcrafted by a team of experienced luthiers (guitar makers) and artisans. Our passion shows, in the exceptional sound quality and visual beauty of every instrument we produce…and we look forward to sharing our passion with you!

About Manufacturer

A few years back a wonderful man named Robin Boucher drove to Sound Pure studios all the way from Canada. In his back seat, nestled in lovely tweed cases, he had some of the finest acoustic guitars to ever cross our northern border. We became immediate friends and his work was mind-blowing. The clarity of the tone, the immaculate fit and finish, the effortless playability. To top it all off, Robin got his start as a WOOD DEALER. He happens to live in an Adirondack red spruce forest!
