This Chrome-Over Brass snare from Sonor likely originated from a full drum kit that was produced and sold sometime in the early 1970’s. For its age, this drum is in good condition. A close inspection will reveal some pitting of the hardware, as well as some flaking of the chrome plating. The internal muffling system is missing the felt muffle ring, but the snare strainer feels smooth and well-kept. Sonically, this drum has a wonderful crack in higher tuning ranges, and can manage a pretty round and fat sound in lower tunings. Given the dimensions of this drum, we found that its sweet-spot was definitely in a higher tuning range.
