The bridge position Starla humbucker offers powerful tone perfect for pushing out leads ranging from just a touch of bluesy grit, to full on screaming distortion-laced nirvana. Adding the ability to split the Starla into singlecoils, and pairing it with PRS's new Type-D single coil in the neck, only makes this piece more versatile when the time comes to rake out some stylish clean rhythm tones. The Type-D in itself is a joyful tonal experience on its own for both rhythm, and warmer lead playing. On top of all this the Vela plays in the typical effortless PRS style, with easy to control bends, and slick action from the first fret to the last. PRS has unquestionably produced a beautiful new line of guitars with this model both in aesthetics and tone. The Vela is the maiden voyage into an offset body shape for PRS and is both elegant and edgy. Loaded with a PRS-designed Starla humbucker in the bridge and the newly designed PRS Type-D single coil in the neck, the Vela has a bright, punchy tone that sounds great plugged into your pedalboard or straight into an amp. A coil-tap on the tone control allows the Starla pickup to split into singlecoils and explore a whole new range of tones. The newly designed plate-style bridge holds two brass saddles specifically designed for great sustain and perfect intonation so both rhythm and lead tones sound great no matter where you are on the fretboard.

In the studio or on the stage, you won’t want to leave this guitar at home.
