What We Think

Master craftsman, Bill Detamore took a colection of 5 shells to complete this Frankinpork snare drum. 3 shells were used for the inside and 2 more shells we used for the outside. Cut and fit with lots of glue and Bill made a 7X14, 16 ply Maple snare drum shell. It is complimented with Rosewood vertical veneer inside and outside and finished with a subtle satin oil finish. The 7x14 shell offers a punchy, aggressive attack and sings in the mid-to-high tuning range. Incredible focus and sensitivty when played with a light touch. This drum is spectacular!

The drum artisans at Pork Pie have always had an amazing attention to detail and this Rosewood Maple Snare returns the favor. Constructed with Pork Pie's progressive ply design, this snare features a 16-ply, maple shell interior and an exterior veneer featuring a contrasting vertical grain rosewood interior and exterior.

Offering bearing edges that are hand-sanded and precision cut, the tonal quality of the shell give you the attack of the hard rosewood with the warmth of maple. The hardware includes compact lugs, exclusive to Pork Pie, and 2.3mm heavy-duty hoops that can take the best you can dish out. The drum comes outfitted with Remo USA heads so you're able to enjoy fine tones straight out of the box.

About Manufacturer

In 1987, Bill Detamore started making drums as a hobby. He sold one, made two more, and so on. This evolved into some of the finest handmade drums available today. To take snare drums one step further, he introduced solid (one piece), exotic wood stave and plate brass designs. Pork Pie has also introduced their Little Squealer and Hip Pig series of drums to round out the line.

Over the years, Pork Pie has become the place where a drummer can hot rod an existing kit with new bearing edges, refinishing, or design the kit of their dreams.
