For many years, Jarrah has been one of our favorite tone wood imports from Australia. Its richness and density voice unlike any other timber and exudes a natural beauty commensurate to its sound. 

We fell in love with this Metro 7x14 Jarrah ply snare drum right out of the box. The vertical Royal Ebony veneer is sublime with its rich amber hues and is blessed with a light satin finish to accentuate the natural beauty. The 12 ply shell is roughly 1/4" without reinforcing rings and really allows for a broad range of tuning possibilities. Combined with 10 heavy tube lugs and 2.3mm flanged hoops, we found this drum excelled in multiple tunings with ease and made playing backbeats and rimshots pure audible bliss.

If you find yourself searching for a new sound outside of the normal parameters, give Jarrah some serious consideration. The harder density of this timber creates fantastic tones that are perfect for live or studio applications.
