Stepping away from the traditional lathing style on top of the cymbals, Meinl opted for the raw and tightly hammered look. The hammering adds focus and a trashy quality that is rarely achieved in modern cymbals. The lathed undersides knock down some weight and adds to the dark and smokey sounds.
