Like nothing you've ever heard or felt, guaranteed. Imagine the bright, radiant tonality that many guitars,
particularly modern designs (think OM with European Spruce and Maple) exhibit--this is just the opposite.
The S50's tonality lies on the far, far end of that spectrum, responding to the player's touch with
shadow and moonlight in contrast to the sparkle and shine that acoustic folks are likely more familiar with.
And man, what a spell it casts. You can count on that allure of something new and mysterious
to settle into absolute enchantment after playing up and down the neck even once on this guitar.
I happened to be playing it when my manager walked in, presumably to talk about something serious--after
hearing a big, open major 7th in first position, I looked up to find that he was just as engrossed
in the magical response as I was!
Is the S50 a versatile guitar? Absolutely not--in the same way that any specialized instrument's "edge" has just
as much to do with what it can't do as it does with what it, and only it, can do. To put it another way, to say that this S50 has personality is an understatement--this is the kind of the guitar that makes you feel like you're having a conversation with your instrument, a conversation that will surprise and enrich your thinking about music so long as you have this guitar in your hands.
