Manufacturer's Description from Jule

This addition to the Jule Amps line is dedicated to the power and beauty of all those sweet Sue's, and to one in particular.

The Sweet Sue is our lowest wattage offering. It may also be the most powerful amplifier in the hands of many of our players.

Our goal for theSweet Sue is to create an amplifier with the tonal sweetness and power of the antique Gibson Hawk amplifiers, and the versatility of the early Champs. It also must have an absolutely transparent modern effects loop to make the amp powerful in performance and in the studio.

It does appear that we've accomplished our goals. In the words of Ronan Chris Murphy (Producer/Mixer: Steve Morse, King Crimson, Steve Stevens. . .) of Veneto West Studios the Sweet Sue is "Without a doubt one of the best recording amps I have ever heard."

Sweet Sue at 5 watts puts out enough sound pressure for live performances at small venues. We're talking about the venues where the owner may make more money selling wine and coffee than bourbon and beer. The Sweet Sue comes with your choice of a "Blue Frame" vintage alnico 10" speaker or a Tone Tubby 10". The Tone Tubby offers a more smooth sound for performances than the "Blue Frame." The "Blue Frame" has more of the mids and highs that brighten up your recording sessions. This is of course all up to your ear - not ours.

The Sweet Sue has clean, rich (full of harmonics) headroom up to about 5 or 6. From there on, you are beginning to hear a saturated 6V6 tube/output transformer combination. The variety of sounds that come from the minimalist controls of the Sweet Sue is amazing.

To see the rear controls hold your mouse on the picture above. You have full control over input and output levels, as well as the ability to record your guitar sound mixed in the amp or totally outside. The effects loop also lets you choose between line or guitar level effects. We believe it is the most versatile and transparent all-tube effects loop available anywhere.

The Sweet Sue is a small, powerful package. It is 19 inches tall and 12 inches wide. It's only 7 inches deep. The cabinets is usually hardwood, but we can and have done Tolex/plywood units.

You can dramatically change the sound of the amp by removing the octal 6SL7, and installing a 9 pin 12AX7. This feature gives you two very different amp sounds in one package.

Jule Amps

About Manufacturer

Jule Amps builds all-tube guitar amplifiers, reverbs and cabinets. We build everything by hand. Our mission is to provide tools to help professional performers find new creative experiences. There is nothing about Jule Amps that is mass produced. We build products to enhance the experience of the performing musician. We love what we do. We build everything by hand. Everything is hand wired point-to-point. There are no printed circuit boards to detract from the sound or reliability. Jule's early electronic experience was with U.S. Navy aircraft in Viet Nam (the A6C bomber in Squadron VA 165). Hopefully no Jule Amps products will ever need to fly over hostile territory, but they are all built with that kind of reliabiltiy. We have customers around the world. Because of that we use components that can be found just about anywhere. The objective is to keep your Jule Amps product working for you for a very long time - wherever you find yourself. We are a small company. As a small company we will continue to know our customers and give them the products and service they ask for. We are here to help you make music. "All Tube - All Love"
