The Gretsch Hammered Steel snare drum is part of the Full Range line of snare drums that are currently offered by Gretsch Drums. Starting with a 1.2mm steel shell, they have added larger hammering to the black nickel plated steel shell that not only gives it a distinctive look, it also gives the sound a slightly drier and more focused attack. Adding to that, it is complemented with die-cast hoops which enhance the focus and for you heavy hitters, it really accentuates the rimshots and side sticking.
