The Gretsch 7x14 Black Aluminum snare drum is a limited edition for 2017. It features the infamous Gretsch solid aluminum shell with a powder coated matte black finish inside and out.
The 7" shell depth combined heavy shell is a recipe for greatness. The Gretsch solid shell is 3mm thick with integrated reinforcing rings at the top and the bottom of the shell that measure 5mm thick. Coupled with the die-cast hoops, this drum has a very solid full-bodied note with tremendous articulation. The shallow snare beds deliver sensitivity all the way out to the edges and the center tap is exact and precise. This drum is at home in a variety of tuning ranges which this instrument a flexibility in musical settings. Unlike most Gretsch drums, this limited edition features a dial throw-off which is super easy to operate.
