The unit is based on a perfect replica of the legendary Fairchild 660 and Fairchild 670 (2-channel stereo compressor). The Fairchild compressor is often considered the compressor by which all others should be judged. Essentially, it is the de facto Compressor of the Gods. Unfortunately the few vintage units remaining are aging, possessing heat related internal issues, deterioration and other problems; original units are not only scarce but often times in very bad condition, and very unreliable. Therefore Anthony Demaria of Anthony Demaria Labs was focused and destined to bring this world-renowned, but formerly impossible-to-duplicate unit forward in to the modern world. 5 years in the making, this painstaking recreation of the original Fairchild 670 boasts 16 tubes and 8 audio transformers. All the tubes and audio transformers are spec-matched. The tubes are identical to the original, and the audio transformers were one-by-one duplicates custom made for Anthony through his own painstakingly laborious, many-year process of having these transformers duplicated to his spec. This two channel version is also available in a 1-channel unit that is called the ADL660.
