The flagship large iameter microphone with the premier mono preamp from Soyuz in a single bundle
$4,298.00
The Soyuz 017 FET condenser represents the modern embodiment of the big, classic sound so highly prized in vintage microphones. All Soyuz microphones are like the finest musical instruments and works of art, completely handmade and enable detail to be captured with stunning depth, warmth, and a silky transparency in the upper frequencies. These sonic traits inherent to the 017’s design, allow it to highlight the subtle nuances of sources like vocals and strings while accurately capturing complex instruments with difficult transients across the entire frequency spectrum.
The 017 FET features a cardioid capsule with a gold-sputtered, hand-tuned 34mm diaphragm; an omni-directional capsule is currently available, with additional patterns in development. As with all Soyuz microphones, the 017 FET is completely handmade: bodies and capsules are manually machined, transformers are wound in-house, and all wiring is true point-to-point.
The 017 Series mics have quickly become the go-to vocal microphone of such artists as Coldplay, Radiohead, Shawn Mendes, Paramore, and many others. Well-known producers and engineers who have adopted it include Nigel Godrich (Radiohead, Paul McCartney, Beck), Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Lumineers, Lady Gaga), Sylvia Massy (Prince, Johnny Cash), and Butch Walker (Pink, Green Day, Taylor Swift, Avril Lavigne) and many more.
The engineers at Soyuz have spent decades studying, servicing, and building classic microphones; this unique pool of knowledge, craft and skill – combined with the ears of numerous musicians, producers and audio engineers – has culminated in the creation of the 017 Series’ custom S17 capsule. Featuring a gold-sputtered, hand-tuned 34mm diaphragm, the S17 is loosely based on the original K67 capsule developed in 1960. Far from creating another clone of a classic, Soyuz has further developed the design, modifying its assembly and tuning. The result, when paired with Soyuz’s original schematic, is unique – and uniquely musical.
The 017 FET is a perfect complement to any source needing a three-dimensional sound and captured in a way that already feels finished. The additional -20db in-line pad provides extra versatility for louder sources like guitar amps and close mic’d percussion. With its open top-end, smooth mid-range, powerful – yet balanced – low-end, and remarkably robust build quality, the 017 is destined to be the future benchmark of that elusive mixture of accuracy and sonic flattery that has sent vintage prices soaring.
Sound:
The 017 FET employs the same handmade capsule as the 017 Tube, a proprietary toroidal transformer, and a completely original circuit design. These elements work together to deliver a tonal character that is as rich and detailed as it's tube brother's, but with the slightly faster transient response characteristic of a FET microphone.

Soyuz Lakeside Mono Preamp
Inject weight, color, and lush, dimensional sound into your audio sources with The Lakeside, the first outboard processor from Soyuz. Designed to provide a finished sound to a wide range of inputs, including mics and passive instruments, The Lakeside offers a single channel of discrete, Class-A preamp circuitry for studio production.
The Lakeside features stepped gain control between 10 and 60 dB in 5 dB increments for easy recall, and a smooth trim pot for adjusting output gain. With these two simple controls, you can easily find the optimal level of saturation for your signals. The front-panel 1/4" DI input is switchable, and ideal for capturing keyboards, drum machines, and passive guitars. You also get switchable 48V phantom power and phase reversal on the front panel. Finally, an inductor-based high-pass filter lets you remove unwanted rumbles, with adjustment from 40 to 330 Hz.
Built to Last, Designed to Inspire
Inspired by the classics and built for the modern studio, the Lakeside Preamp combines Soyuz's renowned attention to detail, with engaging design and exceptional engineering. At the heart of The Lakeside are Soyuz’s proprietary custom-wound transformers on both the input and output, imbuing your sound with rich, harmonic texture.
The Class-A, fully discrete, through-hole circuitry ensures maximum performance and clarity. The Lakeside preamp delivers the same vibe and sonic richness sought-after in prized vintage gear but with the benefits of cleaner headroom, lower noise, and consistent reliability.
Full Sound and Control
The Lakeside is intentionally designed to be inviting and intuitive, enabling you to work quickly and easily, and dial in a perfect sound, while staying in your creative flow. The input-gain switch sets your signal to your optimal level and your preferred amount of saturation can be set in stepped 5 dB increments with satisfying clicks.
The output trim knob has a balanced and smooth response with precise control to fine-tune your level to your next capture stage. With these two knobs, you can explore a wide range of sounds with simple recall settings, and pair multiple Lakeside units for precise stereo matching on dual-mic setups or stereo sources.
High-Pass Filter and Sound Shaping
The unique inductor-based high-pass filter adds another layer of control and creativity. The sturdy selector switch targets specific frequency points from 40 to 330 Hz with a musical resonance going beyond basic tone shaping.
This switch quickly sculpts your sound with a natural taper and gentle bump that preserves the originally captured feeling and encourages you to experiment in the moment. Whether you’re cutting through low-end rumble or adding clarity to your mix, use the filter’s resonances to discover new surprises in your sound.
Studio Versatility
The Lakeside preamp is the perfect match for every Soyuz microphone, but its sonic signature will enhance any other mic in your collection. Expect a full-bodied sound that adds a new dimension to your condensers, dynamics, and ribbons.
The 1/4” DI on the front panel adds weight and life to any instrument or high-impedance source—perfect for bass guitars, electrics, synths, drum machines, and more. Get creative and reamp your stems, recordings, and full mixes through the Lakeside, and take advantage of its warmth and distinct character across any track.
