A quote on the product will be sent instantly to the e-mail address you enter, and you can add the product to your cart at the lower price displayed in the e-mail.
The AEB4-I (Analog Expansion Board) adds 4 analog inputs in professional quality to all ADAT capable RME cards (see below). Level adjustment +4 dBu/-10 dBV, 107 dBA SNR and a servo balanced input circuit deliver perfect sound and sonic clarity.
The AEB4-I is designed for maximum flexibility. Both stereo inputs 1/2 3/4 are automatically copied to channels 5/6 and 7/8. Installation is done in a convenient manner using the supplied bracket, or - as no contact to any slot on the motherboard is needed - at any place inside the computer. Nuts for all TRS jacks and a drilling template are included.
The AEB8-I offers 8 inputs with 4 stereo TRS jacks. Usual insert cable can be used to split the connectors from stereo jack to mono jacks. Level adjustment +4 dBu/-10 dBV, 107 dBA SNR and highest suppression of PC-noise guarantee perfect sound quality.
OPERATING THE AEB4/8-I :
Using the Analog Expansion Board is very easy to do, thanks to the clearly structured and informative Settings dialog of the RME cards. The AEB4/8-I operates like any other converter with ADAT output, but is connected internally. Therefore the card's input selector has to be set to 'Internal'.
The AEB gets its clock from the DIGI (thus works as slave.) To avoid a clock loop the card has to be switched into 'Master' mode (field 'Clock Mode'.)
The Input Status display now shows the selected input (Internal), the current sample rate (44.1/48) and format (Adat.)

HDSP 9652:
Two AEBx-I and two AEBx-O or two TEB can be connected and operated simultaneously, in all possible combinations. One TEB can be used together with either one AEBx-I or AEBx-O.
DIGI96 SERIES:
AEBs use the internal ADAT interface of the DIGI cards. Therefore they do not work with the DIGI96 (which did not support ADAT.) To operate the AEB4-I and AEB8-I the used DIGIs must have the connectors ST6/7 on board (for the Word Clock Module.) These were not present on the very first cards of the DIGI96 series (1998 to beginning of 1999.)
One AEBx-I and one AEBx-O can be connected and operated simultaneously, in all possible combinations. Or one TEB.
HAMMERFALL DSP MULTIFACE / DIGIFACE:
Multiface and Digiface use the Hammerfall DSP PCI card. This card has no internal inputs or outputs. Therefore no Expansion Boards can be used.
HAMMERFALL SERIES:
An operation with the Hammerfall or Hammerfall Light requires board revision 1.5 or higher, because the internal connectors ADAT1Out, ADAT2Out and ST7 were not implemented in earlier versions.
One AEBx-I and two AEBx-O can be connected and operated simultaneously, in all possible combinations. Or one TEB and one AEBx-O.
RME is a young German team of developers with a robust vision of creating innovative, user friendly, and high-quality digital audio solutions for less money. Founded in 1996, RME quickly earned their stripes as a premiere industry provider, expanding rapidly into mainstream international markets. Each developer on the RME team is either a musician or sound engineer - besides being a specialist in hardware and software development. Additionally, to give their designs a persistent competitive edge in today's market, RME developers regularly network with other industry specialists to exchange knowledge and information - truly designing a line of products with superior quality, and affordable, mass-market appeal. RME has had a consistent string of successful product releases, earning awards and accolades from the press and the public alike. The enthusiastic response and worldwide support the RME product line has generated ranks them one of the top audio device companies in the industry.
