Sound Pure's Take
For the first time in 20 years, Ludwig has started using a 1.2mm shell and we can't think of a better use for it than on the Copperphonic series snares. The Copperphonic snares utilize the same copper that is used in their legendary timpani drums which they have been building for over 100 years and the results are nothing short of incredible. The patina copper shell delivers a focused and crisp tone but with a nice dryness, you won't find in any of the Ludwig metal snare drum offerings. Just like the legendary Black Beauty, the Copperphonic has its own signature sound that engineers and professionals can't deny. Whether you were looking to play rock or jazz this drum fits into place, staying responsive at all volume levels. Discover what happens when beauty and tone collide with the Copperphonic snare drum.
From Ludwig
With close to a century of experience building copper timpani, the newest member to the Ludwig USA snare drum range is the Copper Phonic snare drum. This drum is fitted with imperial lugs and 2.3mm hoops, and the 6.5 x 14 copper shell is finished with a unique patina finish and copper plated hardware. Built to the same standards as Ludwig's Black Beauty, Supraphonic, and Bronze Phonic models, the Copper Phonic is a legend in the making.
