The G-4000 Series snare drums build on the previous Classic 4160 Metal Series snares by broadening the size spectrum, and offering a spun brass shell.
$875.00
The Gretsch Solid Steel snare is made from a cast shell that is then machined to exact tolerances. The seamless shells are 3mm thick at the shell wall and 5mm thick at the each edge and have 45-degree bearing edges. This thicker shell provides a focused note, definition of notes, and a snapping crack not found in your typical metal shell snares. The shell interiors and exteriors are finished in a sleek and glossy black nickel and includes the traditional Lightning throw-off, top and bottom die-cast hoops, 'Snap-In' key holder, center shell Gretsch knurled pattern and 42-Strand snare wire.
All snare drums feature Ligtning throw-off, top and bottom die-cast hoops, center knurl pattern 'Snap-In' key holder, classic Gretsch badge, Permaone coated top/clear bottom heads and 42-Strand snare wire (24 wires on 13-inch drums). Shell options include Chrome over Brass, Solid Aluminum, Solid Steel, Hammered Chrome over Brass, Hammered Copper and Spun Brass.
For 135 years, the Gretsch Drum Company has produced classic American instruments that drummers the world over covet. The signature “great Gretsch sound” has been utilized by numerous classic and modern drummers alike; Max Roach, Tony Williams, Cindy Blackman, Taylor Hawkins, and Vinnie Colaiuta are just a few examples of master drummers that have sat behind Gretsch kits. Currently, Gretsch’s three lines of professional-grade drums (the Brooklyn, Broadkaster, and USA Custom) are built by a small team of dedicated craftsmen in Ridgeland, South Carolina. Gretsch also offers a number of affordable import lines that allow beginner and intermediate drummers to be a part of drum history and play behind a Gretsch set.
