Sound Pure's Take
The Tradition sports a George Way limited edition minted badge with an art deco-looking cloud shape that contains the snare’s single air vent in its center. It comes standard with eight single-piece lugs that are an original George Way design. Their clean and streamlined appearance give way to a simple and understated look while providing the structural foundation. It also sports the original George Way “beer tap” style snare throw-off with some modern improvements. The Tradition produces a surprisingly balanced and vintage-like sound with modern build quality. The cherry shell has a lush look and the tone equally compliments throughout multiple tuning ranges. In low volumes, the shell excels with sensitivity and expressiveness. At the louder volume levels, fat backbeat can be achieved without having to hit the drum too hard. If you are looking for a primary snare drum with a lot of class and versatility, look no further.
From George Way Drums
The George Way 6.5x14 Tradition Snare Drum with Cherry Shell features the same shell architecture as the Studio model with one exception - the shells are entirely made from Cherry. This snare drum comes with streamline casings and a 845 snare throw off requires no snare wire tension, you actually use the butt end as a tension adjustment for the snares. The Tradition snare drum has triple flange hoops that fold down over the tension rods completing its simple but elegant look.
