The Craviotto Drum Company’s Solitaire snare drums feature a new price point that is geared toward providing working drummers with a handmade metal shell instrument. Solitaire snares feature a thin-wall aero-grade aluminum shell that’s has a dual-diamond venting system. The shell itself is cast and rolled in the USA and provides strength, warmth, and clarity. Their new low-mass single-point diamond tube-lug made of solid brass and completes the package with an understated look. As with most Craviotto drums, this snare is also outfitted with the Trick strainer system and Craviotto's 20 strand snare wires. The Solitaire is a versatile snare for all performance applications and environments, and is microphone friendly, making it ideal for live and recording.

The Solitaire snare drum begins with a premium thin-wall, aero-grade aluminum shell that is hand-rolled in the USA. The Solitaire’s aluminum shell provides uncompromised strength, surprising warmth, unquestioned clarity, and substantial body with enhanced mid-range projection.
Solitaire snare drums feature our innovative dual diamond venting system modeled after our signature wood inlays found on our one-ply, solid shell wood Custom Shop drums.
Solitaire snare drums also feature Craviotto’s new, low mass single-point diamond tube lug. This solid brass lug allows the shell to vibrate more freely.

Since 2004, Craviotto Drum Company has paved the way in offering custom built, handcrafted one-ply, solid shell drums. Our aim is to explain how solid shells perform differently from ply shell drums. Craviotto Drum Company builds concepts. We want to share these creations with you. We also want to promote our family of artists, and our family of dealers where you can purchase one for yourself.
Each custom drum we make is handcrafted by our small group of artists and craftsmen in California. We don't source our shells like other manufacturers. We get our hands dirty. We start from scratch and see the process through all the way here in the USA. No shortcuts are taken, no compromises made.
Our process starts when we send our craftsmen to the source. Johnny and our team literally pick through millions of board-feet of wood determining which boards are good enough to bear the Craviotto name. And that's just the starting point.
From there, each drum goes through Johnny's proprietary process and passes through the six most talented sets of hands in the drum building business. Each shell wears Johnny's fingerprints, sweat, and final signature of approval with pride. Not every board makes it, only the best get Johnny's signature.
