As a maker of carved-top instruments myself, I've got a soft spot for fine jazz guitars. This Campellone EP is an amazing blend of archtop artistry and player practicality, with the sound of a full-size jazz box in a compact package. Asked to demo this for a good customer recently, I managed to get both Metheny/Hall-esque smooth tones and edgier "downtown" sounds with a few minor control adjustments, all with remarkable note separation and clarity.

Mark Campellone's reputation is legion in the jazz guitar world, and we're incredibly excited to have this stunning little 15" archtop in the shop. Styled after classic 1950's G guitars, this guitar has all the class and sophiscation associated with those models...and incredibly passionate craftsmanship. This guitar has honey-sweet mellow acoustic tone, rich with tremendous clarity in all the registers. Plugged in, the mounted pickup can go from Remler-ish mellow to bright and chimy with a quick flick of the tone knob. This guitar has everything you need to do serious jazz playing and look the part while you're at it.
Inspired by the great orchestra-style instruments, the archtop guitars Mark builds today are among the world's finest. With their beautiful styling, excellent playability and superb acoustic quality, his instruments have quickly gained the attention of archtop enthusiasts across the U.S. and abroad. Combining quality materials, design artistry and expert craftsmanship, Mark produces instruments which establish him as one of today's premiere builders of acoustic archtop guitars. His work has been exhibited at the Smithsonian Museum of American History as part of the Blue Guitar Project and has been covered in numerous guitar related publications.
The EP Series is designed to offer tonal and response characteristics similar to a full size archtop guitar when amplified, but in a more compact, moderately priced package.
