What we think:

This guitar is the definition of a "work of art".  This semi-hollow New Orleans JB-14 has some seriously amazing details to talk about!  Let's start with the looks- Highly flamed top in a deep purpl-ish red. stunning! maple binding throughout- VERY nice detail! and that multi-piece neck?! Show me a builder that has a better looking neck.  It's rare. and we love it!

As for tone- Versatility doesn't even begin to describe the capabilities.  Thick yet clear tone from the DiMarzio humbuckers and plenty o' sustain from the neck-through construction. Semi-hollow body without F-holes prevents feedback at higher volumes. We can all appreciate that!

I could go on for days about this guitar because there are so many details to talk about.  Call or Email Sound Pure to get a full run-down of the special features inside and out of this world-class boutique JB-14.  Better yet, get it in your hands and see why we are crazy about it! Jazz, Fusion, Rock, Funk.. Put it to the test!!

Description:

The Jb 14 is an entirely different animal altogether....same neck through construction as the voodoo, same stability and durability...same neck but it's cored out as it enters the body under the pickups and left solid again under the bridge and tail. The top and back plates start out at 3/4'' thick and are carved to 1/4'' thickness with a thinner recurve around the domed top and back with full support under the bridge and tail. The body side walls are cut from solid stock and finish up at 1/4'' in thickness. This 22 fret model measures 14'' across the lower bout and joins the body at the 16th fret...total thickness is 2 7/8'' tapering to 1 13/16'' at the edge. The back plate is bound in quartersawn curly maple and capped off with a heel cap that matches the fretboard , headstock and pickguard. This model feels a little chunkier to hold and it feels great against your body,....what little sustain is given up compared to our solidbody, is more than made up for in tonal complexity and because of the solidly anchored bridge and no f-holes, feedback is never a concern,...actually one of the great things about this model is how controllable the feedback becomes and in high gain applications, this guitar becomes a howling screamer with increased lower mids. This model uses our same standard pickup package as our voodoo but because of the placement against a shorter fretboard, a much greater variety of tone can be dialed up to cover anything from smooth jazz and fingerstyle blues to screaming leads and howling slide. This guitar was designed for the guy who might play a hotel jazz gig one night and roadhouse blues the next....it's got a classic appeal and can be dressed in blue jeans or tuxedo,..either way it looks great.
