Alberta is quite unique; she makes your guitar sing. She provides instant access to the kind of warm overdrive and emotive distortion usually reserved for 30-year-old tube amps. Alberta delivers a creamy, yet crunchy sound with a smooth mid-range boost, reminiscent of the old Ibanez TS-808.Recorded with a Neumann U87 into a Great River Electronics MP-2NV and Coles 4038, into a Chandler TG2, and finally a Lynx Aurora 16 AD Converter

The U 87 has been the standard of the recording industry since 1967. This microphone is famous for its warm sound and well balanced characteristics. The current U 87A yields a 6dB improvement in signal-to-noise over its predecessor. It is equipped with a LF roll-off switch to reduce proximity effect and a 10dB pad. Used extensively for vocals and orchestras, the U 87A is also particularly suited for cello, brass, piano, and percussion. U 87A is sold with John Peluso's Shockmount!
