The CharterOak M900t Vacuum Tube Pencil Microphones record gorgeous sounding fingerstyle acoustic guitars in the recording studio through a millennia HV3r microphone preamplifier. The Charter Oak M900t has a warm vintage coloration, that is rich on top, with a thick and full midrange character, making it a wonderful choice for reproducing warm finger-style playing with a very tame top end, but at the same time not terribly sacrificing detail. The M900t kit includes the mics, power supply, shockmounts, Gotham audio mic cable, and three capsules (modified, but based on the original M900)- cardioid, hyper-cardioid, and omni. The entire line of Charter Oak Microphones and Signal Processors are available for purchase through Sound Pure by simply calling us toll free at 888-528-9703.

The new Earthworks SR40 Cardioid Microphones record dazzling Acoustic Guitars in the recording studio, and then in an untreated space in this great video demo. In this video we utilize a variety of preamps including Earthworks own 1024 Mic Preamp, the Sebatron 4000e VU, and then the Vintech X73i (in the untreated space). The near perfect cardioid pattern provides some off-axis control of reflections in both the studio and the untreated Sound Pure Guitar showroom, but is completely flat and neutral in each quadrant of its near-perfect cardioid pattern, meaning that the off axis sounds and reflections picked up by the microphone remain as neutral, flat and beautiful, yielding a truly detailed and accurate overall picture. Call us today to discuss this dazzling new microphone from Earthworks, or any of their other amazing equipment, toll free at 888-528-9703.

This 4.5 from McPherson is quite a player. We find the Bear Claw top gives the guitar a little extra shimmer on top due to it's stiffness. This translates wonderfully when strumming chords and playing lines. The Black Acacia is very Mahogany-esque in it sound. It adds a lot of warmth and dynamics to the guitar which complements the shimmer of the Bear Claw. The 4.5 size gives you the perfect balance of projection and presence without being overly powerful on the low end.

Sometimes referred to as Australian Blackwood; Black Acacia behaves much like Koa and Mahogany. Black Acacias grain offers a shimmer not found in Koa and it is a mainstay of Australian builders. It is found in Africa, India, and Northeastern California but originated in Southern Australia.
