“I visited Sound Pure to check out a Collings dreadnought that I had seen online. When I got there, a manager walked with me next door to the acoustic/studio building. A beautiful space with exposed brick walls and a comfortable leather sofa. But hanging on the walls were about a dozen or so super high-end acoustic guitars. Huss and Daltons, Santa Cruz, Goodall, Collings, Lowden, and others. Barrett Brooks showed me the Collings I came to look at, as well as others. He then said, “take your time and play as many as you’d like.” I spent the next 3 hours playing, examining, and comparing every guitar they had. Completely not rushed. Barrett answered every question I had… Two days later, I called Barrett and told him that the Goodall Grand Concert was the guitar for me. But I wanted a specific wood configuration. No problem. Sound Pure had a “slot” with Goodall for a custom build, and my guitar would be ready in 3 or 4 months, as opposed to up to a year. We agreed on price, terms, etc. Plus, some other requests. I received the guitar last week. It’s even better than I thought it was going to be. Never would have bought had it not been for the excellent experience I had at Sound Pure. I try to visit cool guitar shops at every city I visit. Sound Pure has been the best so far.”
