Condition: Used, Very Good
SP Luthier Notes: The fretboard showed signs of unevenness which required the frets to be pulled and the board re-planed to level. A majority of frets showed evidence of play wear. As such, the frets were leveled, recrowned, and polished back to a near mint state. The guitar required an adjustment to the truss rod, nut, and bridge to be brought to a perfect level of playability. No further work was required.
This piece feels like an old friend from the moment you pick it up: it has a clear and resonant voice thanks to the Spruce and East Indian Rosewood Construction, and that bouqtique Lowden craftsmanship shines through in the feel and look of this guitar: rustic, simple and just badass. It's punchy, looks absolutely incredible and is a bit of an odd bird: despite being labeled as an S-25, ( examples of which are typically Cedar and Rosewood instruments), THIS particular guitar is Spruce and Rosewood! An incredible example of a Lowden, and we love it! Don't miss this one!
The 25 was often thought of as THE Lowden. Nowadays with many more new models it is not possible to say which would be THE Lowden, but the 25 has character in bags. It is rich, full-bodied, warm and powerful.
The Original Series was the very first Lowden range from 1976, just as the ‘O’ model is George’s original Lowden body design. Although the medium sized ‘F’ and concert sized ‘S’ have been added to the range since then, the Lowden standard of passionate commitment to no compromise was well and truly set.
