At the new Sound Pure Studios - 808 Washington St., downtown Durham. On-street parking.

Spend an evening in the recording studio with internationally renowned, 5 time Grammy nominated jazz vocalist Nnenna Freelon! Nnenna will perform, with music provided by special guests Pierce Freelon and "The Beast," and will discuss the recording process with Sound Pure's Todd Atlas

Enjoy a unique evening of music, fabulous food catered by the Award-Winning Piedmont Restaurant, and an inside look at the artistic process involved in making a recording in a serious recording studio.

A delicious buffet dinner provided by Piedmont restaurant, with wine will be followed by an "inside look" at what goes on during recording sessions, including discussions with Nnenna Freelon, Pierce Freelon, band members from The Beast, Todd Atlas (owner of Sound Pure studios), as well as a brief performance which will be recorded and played back to the audience to enhance the studio-process discussion.

All proceeds from this event support Durham Arts Council's arts education and grant programs.
