What We Think

What a neat lil 15 watt gibson-based amp! Bluesy enough for the rootsiest of the bunch and honky enough for classic rockers. Very few guitarists you know will have a better looking amp too! Classy two-tone covering. This amp takes real well to slide guitar playin. I can't get enough of that gritty natural drive! and like all Victoria's that include tremolo, I barely ever have that turned off.

We're pretty crazy for Victoria amps at Sound Pure. I highly recommend calling for more info. If we don't have what you want in stock, we can usually get it faster than most other places and always at the best price.

Manufacturer's Description from Victoria

The Electro King is an idealized recreation of the classic McCarty era GA-40. Its circa 1957 circuit features two cathode biased 6V6s for 15watts of recording and small club power. The heart and soul of the Electro King is its 5879 preamp circuit; a single NOS 5879 input pentode for each of the normal and tremolo channels provides rich distortion and natural tube compression at any volume setting. Notes seem to be ýblowný out of the amp with overdriven tones that are saturated, dynamic and musical. The Electro King is singularly suited to slide guitar styles with its expressive open tones. True to the original, the tremolo is accomplished with the aid of an NOS 6SQ7 oscillator tube and is a driver modulated volume style tremolo. Slim Harpo/Lonesome Sundown spoken here. The Electro King is fitted with a Jensen P12Q alnico speaker for true vintage tone. New Victoria ýRadio-lectricý logo and two tone tolex covering standard.

About Manufacturer

In 1993, I set out to faithfully recreate the crown jewels among the many classic amplifiers developed by Leo Fender. The tweed amps of the late 50's defined the sound of rock and blues on vinyl and on stage, but they had also become increasingly scarce, and well beyond the reach of most working musicians.
