Description:

The VooDoo Custom was designed to be the ultimate solid body workhorse for the professional musician. Every aspect of its construction was designed to produce the most dependable and versatile guitar on the market today. The heart of this guitar starts with a five piece laminated neck through design.

The neck billets are built by bookmatching the stock and opposing the grain to produce an incredible stable neck that copes with changes in temperature and humidity.

The neck through design also allows us to carve the most ergonomic transition to the body for improved access to the higher register. the rear of the headstock is carved with a raised spine between the tuners in order not to only add mass for improved sustain, but also to make up for the removed truss rod material. The extra stiffness at this point also really aids in overall tuning stability.

Neck through design is by far the most straight forward and stable way to build a guitar but involved a lot of hand joinery. This alone is the reason that few manufacturers us this type of design, but is well worth the effort.

We bind the fretboards and headstocks in quartersawn hardwoods. This considerable reduces end absorption of fretboard materials producing a more stable playing surface. The hardwood binding is also far less susceptible to the normal shrinkage associated with plastic bindings. The tops are carved from 3/4" thick stock that is chosen for its figure and density. This extra thick top lays a major role in producing an instrument that has a very individual tonal character.

One of the really nice aspects of this model is the carved back. Not only does it reduce the overall weight of the guitar but it also presents the fretboard in a very ergonomic position and forces the guitar to hang at the correct location between the shoulders. This is especially appreciated when playing longer gigs.
