Humbucker vs. Single Coil pickup comparison in this Electric Guitar demonstration video. Using the Tyler Studio Elite Retro guitar, with the JTS2 Hot Laura Single Coil Pickups, and the Nash T-72 DLX, with the Fender Wide Range Dual Humbucker Pickups, we will demonstrate the tonal and practical differences between these two pickups and show the amazing sound you can achieve from each type. Many Single Coil Pickups will be a little noisy when they are played at higher amplifier volumes or played with a lighter touch. The result you get is a slight hum. The single coil is bright and present and in strat style guitars has a bell-like quality. For a thicker overall sound and to rid yourself of most background hum, then you may be interested in the humbucker pickups. Humbuckers can be used in the same style music as single coil pickups, they just give off more bass and tonal qualities. The middle and bass frequencies are different from a single coil, and that will be the first difference you recognize. If you have any questions on these two pickups and guitars, or any of the guitars we have in our boutique, contact us here at Sound Pure.

In this demo we use the Henriksen Jazz Amp 112 er with a Nash T-57, T-63, and T-72 DLX. The Fender Telecaster is an icon in the guitar world. Its bright, gritty tone is well known throughout many genres such as rock, blues, country, and more. Not many people realize that it can sound fantastic in a jazz setting as well. The key to getting a jazz sound on a telecaster is cutting down the high's a little and boosting the lows on the amp, while having the tone knob on the guitar halfway and the volume all the way up. This will give you a warm, creamy tone that works well with jazz. The Fender wide Range humbuckers speak true to their name. They truly remain clear and balanced throughout the tonal range, even when overdriven. We especially like the overdriven sounds of this pickup arrangement on this T-72 DLX guitar. A nice light relic sure to turn heads with all the comfort and mojo you would expect from Bill Nash. You’ve got to play it to believe it.
when we first picked up Bill Nash's guitars, we utterly amazed at the quality of his workmanship. Not only is his relic-ing top notch, but all of the instruments have a resonance that is hard to find these days from an instrument pulled off the wall at GC. We think this is due to a very thin coat of nitrocellulose lacquer, a properly seated neck pocket, and the appropriate density of the woods used. Combine this with Jason Lollar's pickups and you really have a match made in heaven. The pickups have that incredible bell-like tone with just the right amount of output. Finally a guitar that sounds and plays like the originals did in the late 50's. We've had people come in to compare their vintage Strats and Fender CS's to a Nash walk out with a Nash guitar because it was simply a better guitar. You can't argue with the price either. Most relics on the market are nearly double the price of a Nash. A Bill Nash guitar is a real player's instrument. His philosophy is that they should be used, abused, and then used some more.
