This acoustic guitar demo of the McPherson 4.0xp with a Port Orford Cedar top and Madagascar Rosewood back and sides- it sounds a beautiful as it looks, and John Garris rips through some great licks on the instrument, while also demo'ing it's fantastic tonal qualities, and sustain. The instrument was expertly recorded in stereo using a single pair of Earthworks QTC40 Omnidirectional microphones into a Sebatron 4000e tube mic preamp. Like the rest of the McPherson line, it features the signature offset sound hole, as well as the legendary McPherson bracing that makes these instruments so special. The Sound Pure sales team is available at all times to answer any questions you have about this McPherson, the other McPherson guitars that we have available, the rest of the collection of boutique guitars and amps, or the recording techniques that we used here at Sound Pure to achieve these results. The 4.5 Guitar from McPherson has a Port Orford Cedar top with gorgeous Pau Rosa back and sides. The Port Orford Cedar has a similar sound to a warm spruce top, and the hardwood South American Pau Rosa is very dense with a tone falling between Rosewood and Ebony. The wood grain is absolutely stunning. The sound of the #1766 McPherson is very full with a mid-range that really shines. We thank John Garris and his killer bluegrass licks. Feel free to call Sound Pure and our Guitar Boutique staff for any information regarding this fantastic acoustic guitar. 919.682.5552

This 4" deep McPherson is truly a special guitar. The Port Orford top has a nice liveliness to it with a quick reponse, but maintains a nice warmth characteristic of Red Cedar. The Madagascar Rosewood back and sides is absolutely stunning... very reminiscent of Brazilian in looks and tone. The sound is bold and authoritative yet very dynamic. This is a very versatile guitar.
