McPherson 3.5XP Engelmann Spruce/Flamed Walnut #1615, from McPherson

Another stunning beauty from McPherson Acoustic Guitars, this time shot in the untreated Guitar Showroom at Sound Pure Guitar Boutique. It was recorded meticulously with Earthworks SR40 Microphones and Vintech X73i Mic Pres. This McPherson features an Engelmann Spruce top with Flamed Walnut back and sides. Engelmann Spruce is light in color with rich, complex tone. This wood best suits a more gentle touch. Great for fingerpicking with warm bass and complex overtones. Flamed Claro Walnut has a strong fundamental, with warmth and balance. Walnut has less depth and projection than rosewood and slightly darker tone than Mahogany. The Depth is 4" at block and 3.5" at tail block with a Scale Length of 25". It has a Standard McPherson Neck Width of 1 3/4" at nut, 2 5/32" at 12th.
