The new Earthworks SR40 Cardioid Microphones record dazzling Acoustic Guitars in the recording studio, and then in an untreated space in this great video demo. In this video we utilize a variety of preamps including Earthworks own 1024 Mic Preamp, the Sebatron 4000e VU, and then the Vintech X73i (in the untreated space). The near perfect cardioid pattern provides some off-axis control of reflections in both the studio and the untreated Sound Pure Guitar showroom, but is completely flat and neutral in each quadrant of its near-perfect cardioid pattern, meaning that the off axis sounds and reflections picked up by the microphone remain as neutral, flat and beautiful, yielding a truly detailed and accurate overall picture. Call us today to discuss this dazzling new microphone from Earthworks, or any of their other amazing equipment, toll free at 888-528-9703.

The OM is the second model in the Traditional series instruments. It features a smaller, more comfortable to hold body size than the popular dreadnought body shape. Its description is not unlike its bigger brother, the Traditional Dreadnought model.
"When we string up an OM it's hard to distinguish from the Traditional Dreadnought"
Its tone is extremely powerful in the bass and midrange with an emphasis on a broad warmth without lacking treble. The Traditional model features a custom, partial scalloped bracing pattern which produces a bit more 'boominess' in the bass and midrange. The peghead and bridge have been redesigned for a more conservative look and Waverly tuning machines are a standard feature. It is nicely trimmed with a herringbone rosette and herringbone top purfling with a chevron marquetry backstrip. It is especially built for the flatpicker and bluegrass style players.
