What We Think

Condition: Used, Excellent - Some pickguard scratching

This one's like the first big storm of the summer--awesome to hear and to behold!  When a flatpick starts bouncing off those strings this massive thunderhead of a guitar roars to life.  You can feel the bass and midrange frequencies in particular reverberate through the whole instrument while at the same time the projection is incredibly precise.  Boomy with a hard edge, let's say.  A gorgeous piece of Adirondack top gives the treble range plenty of flash and crackle.  Going with the partial scalloped bracing pattern as opposed to Goodall's unique graduated top strikes a wonderful balance between the sophisticated overtone content native to all Goodalls and the more tautly wound punch and power found in classic guitar design.  Throw in the wonderful condition and the used price tag and you're looking at a perfect storm of power and personality!

Manufacturer's Description from Goodall

The Traditional model features the popular dreadnought body shape. Its tone is extremely powerful in the bass and midrange with an emphasis on a broad warmth without lacking treble. The Traditional model features a custom, partial scalloped bracing pattern which produces a bit more 'boominess' in the bass and midrange. The peghead and bridge have been redesigned for a more conservative look and Waverly tuning machines are a standard feature. It is nicely trimmed with a herringbone rosette and herringbone top purfling with a chevron marquetry backstrip. It is especially built for the flatpicker and bluegrass style players.
