This guitar has an unbelievably balanced response from top to bottom. Three-octave arpeggios sound like they were played on one string. The custom pickup John Pisano designed with Kent Armstrong reflects this desire for the perfect balance--and it may be as close to perfect as I've ever seen on any archtop model. This design has obviously been tweaked by someone who has played a ton of archtops in their lifetime and, armed with that knowledge, built something that combines the best qualities of the best archtop guitars ever made with some really innovative improvements. The body dimensions are an ideal medium for achieving superior tone and playability, and the appointments are really stunning. The hand-carved select spruce top has a very prominent grain that is unusually straight and consistent, a quality highly sought-after for its acoustic properties in guitar tops.
