The Jon Pisano series from Eastman are some of the most natural, organic feeling instruments we come across, and this piece is one of the best I've seen from them. This guitar has the ability to put you completely at ease in a way that really opens you up for your most inspired playing. Jon Pisano really nailed it with this design, and the addition of mahogany back and sides adds a nice warmth and a colorful woody character.
This neck offers effortless execution of single line passages, but I often find myself slowly sweeping through a thick chord voicing and listening for the cascade of overtones and tonal character. This is not one of those instruments that forces you to play a certain way, it is more like a tool that feels like an extension of yourself. If you've been playing archtops for a while but haven't found one that has that certain something you connect with right away, I highly recommend this Jon Pisano-- it could be exactly what you are looking for!
